NEW LAGOS Chairman of the Nigeria Union
of Journalists, Dr. Quasim Olalere Akinreti, a journalist with the Voice of
Nigeria (VON), and members of his recently elected executives at the Saturday
maiden congress, where he urged for better and improved welfare packages and
investment opportunities for teeming Nigerian journalists. He also pledged that
during his tenure, they will advance the course of journalists through a
proposed bill via pushing the Media Enhancement Bill so that many media
professionals today can become media entrepreneurs.
